It’s a 2006 325i that had only 17,512 miles on it! Only two small scratches on the driver’s side.

Gotta love the mean looking front! My son thinks it looks like a cat.

The last time I was in Germany I had a Mercedes SUV which was very nice, had lots of cup holders and such, but didn’t feel good at speed. Next trip I hope to rent a 3 series and am expecting much better performance on the Autobahn than the Mercedes had.
Is BMW the ultimate driving machine? I don’t know, but it’s definitely very different than the very nice Japanese cars I had been driving for 25 years. Hondas and Toyotas are very nice cars, but the BMW is a completely different experience. Braking is amazing, and the car’s nose does not dive when braking. The brakes are rated for 150 MPH, although I’ll never need anything like that on Route 38. The suspension is fantastic, although a little “sporty” (ie: stiff). The kids have gotten used to my cornering at high speeds and pointing out that the car remained perfectly level and didn’t under/oversteer as a result. Hey, I am an engineer!
Just for reference, I was looking at a used 2008 Acura TL with less than 5000 miles on it. Nice car, nice stereo, lots of cup holders, and drove like my Accord. The finance guy made an offer I could refuse, so I was undecided about what to do. For some reason I looked at the local BMW dealer’s used car inventory and realized a CPO (Certified Pre-Owned... German for “used”) BMW was actually less than the used TL. Huh? Went over, drove one, liked it better and made a deal. BMW was also much lower pressure... “we’ve got a lot of cars coming off lease all the time, so if you don’t see what you like, just let us know what you want and we’ll call when it comes in.” I looked at about ten 325s until settling on this one. The salesman was very low pressure. It was the most relaxing time I’ve ever spent in a car dealership, and the most professionally I’ve ever been treated.
I can’t say enough about the good people at DeSimone BMW in Mt Laurel.
